Haunted Bed And Breakfasts

"The Supernatural is the Natural, just not yet understood."
Elbert Hubbard

Haunted bed and breakfasts are usually a large house that was haunted long before it became an overnight stop for travelers. There are several bed and breakfast businesses that operate in structures that are deemed to be haunted. Many owners of these types of businesses opt for buildings that are large enough to operate their business, yet inexpensive enough to either purchase or lease for a set amount of time. In most incidents, the buildings that are up for grabs and meet these criteria are those that are aged, and require some type of renovations. Buildings of this nature often have a long history of owners, tenants, employees, and other instances of the living, and even the dead. On this page, you will learn about a large number of haunted bed and breakfasts that you can visit if you are seeking a little adventure into the spiritual world.

One of the most popular haunted bed and breakfasts among the living, as well as the dead, is the Myrtles Plantation. Tucked away in the shadows of the Deep South, this Louisiana home has been classified by highly qualified paranormal researchers as “One of America’s Most Haunted Homes”. According to historians in the area, the structure was constructed on grounds that were used by the Indians as a place to bury and honor their dead. The original owner, General Bradford, was noted in claiming unusual events since the home was very first constructed. One of these events was a recollection of encountering the spirit of a girl that appeared to be of Indian descent.

In St. Augustine, Florida, the “Nation’s Oldest City”, there is a bed and breakfast by the name of The Casablanca Inn Built in the year of 1914, the structure is said to have several hauntings. One haunting includes that of a previous owner, an elderly woman, who waves a lantern back and forth on the balcony. Many claim that they have heard the spirits of children who once lived in the building through a boarding house. Then, there have been accounts of faint conversations, the sounds of walking, and other unexplained phenomenon that no culprit can be found for. If you are in Florida, St. Augustine hosts a large number of haunted bed and breakfasts that are said to be haunted.
